Variety – the Children’s Charity of Japan’s Minions Funrun & Music Festival

The first of six Minion Funrun and Music Festivals was held in Tokyo on 13 and 14 February 2016 with other events being held in Osaka, Aichi, Fukuoka, Okinawa and Sapporo in the coming months.

The Minions Funrun and Music Festival event saw participants dressed as characters from the ‘Minions’ movie, and run or walk a short course followed by a party on stage.

Performers included local special artists including DJ Koo, Minmi and Amiaya kept the crowd entertained for throughout the day.

Over 15,000 participants attended over the two day festival.

The event was enjoyed by everyone that attended with a range of merchandise, food and refreshments as well as a designated play area for children being provided.

The event not only received great media coverage throughput Japan, but was also featured as a major news item as far away as the Middle East through the Gulf News publication.

It was a great start to the year for Variety Japan and the year ahead can only get better with more events towards raising funds for children with special needs.
