For 16 years, giving back has had a special place in the hearts of Pizza Nova franchisees and customers. Apart from making Ontario’s premium delivery pizza, Pizza Nova has been giving everyone another reason to buy a pizza while putting smiles on faces.
On May 12, Citytv’s Breakfast Television with Jennifer Valentyne joined Variety Village Ambassadors, Toronto Fire Fighters and Toronto Police along with Pizza Nova for some fun activities including a pizza eating contest, pizza making with kids and wheelchair basketball.
From 11 am to 9pm that day all participating Pizza Nova locations across Southern Ontario once again offered their medium pepperoni pizzas for $4.39 (not including tax), with $1 from each specially priced pizza going to Variety the Children’s Charity and Variety Village.
With balloons bobbing in the breeze and customers lining up to devour their pizza in support of such a good cause, we raised $94,562! It’s no wonder that Pizza Nova has raised over $1.2 million for Variety the Children’s Charity. That’s a lot of pizza, a lot of pepperoni — and a lot of helping hands for those who need it across Ontario.
Variety Village offers specialized programs and recreational facilities dedicated to providing a range of support and activities to people with disabilities, helping them improve their quality of life while leveling the playing field. Pizza Nova has always felt strongly about creating equal opportunities for people at all ability levels, making the relationship with Variety Village a natural fit. “We believe this is a wonderful cause and we’re proud to support Variety Village in the tremendous work they do,” says Pizza Nova President, Domenic Primucci.
