The Fundraiser that circles the Globe – north to south; east to west…and brings that jolly 'ho ho ho' man to many cities and towns to lead The Santa Run, or Claus for a Cause…a phenomenon in attention-getting and participation… malls, town centers and streets becoming a sea of red… which translates into lots of Santa dollars – REAL dollars! – for the kids.

Australia staged a run in each of their 7 Variety locations – click on to see how it captured the imagination of almost everyone down under… and raising in excess of $225,000.

Variety Japan also joined in the holiday spirit.

And half way around the world, Variety Jersey held its 2013 Santa Fun Run on December 1st… More than 60 islanders dressed as Santa, Elves and Reindeer to take part. Adults, children and dogs donned their Santa hats and Christmas costumes as they set off from Jardin de la Mer for the 5km run. They made their way along Victoria Avenue to Millbrook, before turning around and running back. This is the third year that the event has taken place and this year’s Santa Fun Run raised more than ₤500.00.

In the US, Variety Georgia’s 2013 Santa Fun Run was also held on Sunday, December 1st, 2013. The 250 participants dressed as Santa and Santa Helpers (220 Santas & 30 Santa Helpers) set off from Barrett Summit Office Park for the 5K run, just prior to which 3 Mobility bikes were presented. This is the first year that the Santa Run has taken place in Georgia, and this year’s event raised $8,125; $2,500 was in sponsorship funds, of which $1,500 were new sponsors. Everyone loved the event date, location and the Santa outfits, most of whom did wear them. Sounds like next year’s numbers could easily be doubled!
