Hope and Homes for Children, chaired by Vue Entertainment Founder and CEO, Tim Richards, has a vision of a world in which children no longer suffer institutional care by enabling children to return home to their families or into alternative, family-based services. Research shows that every 2.6 months spent in an institution before the age of three stunts a child’s growth by one month and significantly lowers their IQ levels.

In recognition of the extraordinary part Tim Richards has played in helping children through Hope and Homes for Children, Variety – the Children’s Charity International will present Tim with the Variety International Children’s Fund Humanitarian Award at the CineEurope Awards Banquet on Thursday evening, June 25th at the Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona, Spain. The definition of a humanitarian is one who by way of aid and action saves lives, alleviates suffering, protects human dignity and advances social reforms. Variety – the Children’s Charity has been privileged to honor eminent people who share these humanitarian traits of helping children and Tim Richards more than fits that description.

“Not only does Tim run one of the best and most profitable cinema chains worldwide, he has also dedicated his time to helping many homeless and institutionalized children achieve their dreams and find loving homes.” stated Clark Woods, Chair of the Variety International Children’s Fund Committee.
