Variety – the Children’s Charity International is proud to announce Jeromie Meyer as its newest Global Ambassador, strengthening Variety’s commitment to empowering children with disabilities through sport, mobility, and inclusive opportunities.
A Paralympic wheelchair basketball athlete who competed at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, Meyer’s journey is one of resilience and purpose. After a life-altering accident at age nine, he became a full-time wheelchair user and discovered adaptive sports. This experience not only shaped Meyer’s athletic career, but also his passion for advocacy.
As a Global Ambassador, Meyer will work closely with Variety International to shine a light on the barriers many children face when trying to access sports. He will support the charity to expand opportunities through raising awareness and community engagement.
Jeromie Meyer, said: “The biggest barriers for kids getting involved in adaptive sports are access to opportunities, including transportation, information, and especially equipment.”
Through this role, Meyer will support Variety International’s mission to reach more children through life-changing programs that build confidence and foster independence. He is passionate about creating opportunities for children to access sport and unlock their full potential.
“Adaptive sport is the ultimate equalizer,” Meyer said. “I’m proud to partner with Variety to help more kids experience that opportunity.”
