Eloise reconnects with her passion

Fifteen-year-old Eloise’s life was turned upside down when she was involved in a horrific mountain biking accident in 2019 and as a result, acquired a severe brain injury. Prior to her accident, Eloise was a mountain biking champion, and was a passion she shared with her whole family.

Eloise recently received a Variety WA grant for a tandem bike and has been out and about hitting the trails around Perth with her dad ever since. This has allowed her to safely re-engage with her passion, rebuild her confidence and improve her co-ordination and fitness.

“The tandem bike is a great way for her to still connect with the mountain bike community, which used to be an integral part of her life pre-brain trauma.” said Eloise’s mum.

We would like to say a heartfelt thanks to our Mobility Fund donors who made this grant possible.
