Sister gives the gift of confidence

Seven-year-old Abigail lives with Alopecia Areata; an autoimmune disease which often results in long-term hair loss.

Seeing the impact of this condition on her younger sister, Abigail’s sister chose to chop off her long hair so that it could be made into a wig for Abigail.

Abigail received a Variety WA grant to turn her sister’s hair into a custom-made wig, which she now wears with pride.

“Getting the grant to have a wig made with my sister’s hair was amazing. I love putting on my new wig and brushing my hair, it makes me feel pretty,” said Abigail.
